Similasan launches new eye care range

The No2 eye care brand in Switzerland and Austria, Similasan has expanded its current portfolio with a range of products developed to specifically treat Blepharitis.

A common eye complaint, Blepharitis is a painful, sometimes ongoing inflammation of the eyelids resulting in burning, redness and swelling.

The new Blepharitis range, comprising Similasan Blephacura and Similasan Tears Again Spray are available in Swiss pharmacies now.

Carla Wullschleger, chief homeopath at Similasan comments: “Around 1 in 20 eye problems reported to healthcare practitioners are related to Blepharitis. Caused by a bacterial infection or skin conditions such as dermatitis, it is usually a long-term condition for which there is no cure. However establishing a daily eye-cleaning routine can help control the symptoms.

“Developed with exceptional natural product ingredients the new Similasan Blepharitis products help to stimulate the body’s natural ability to relieve symptoms.”

Urs Lehmann, CEO of Similasan comments: “The OTC eye care market is buoyant and the sector continues to innovate. Given our heritage in the OTC eye care field it was a natural progression for us to grow the brand within this treatment area.

“We are proud to be present in over 80 per cent of pharmacies and 90 per cent of drug stores in Switzerland meaning we have been able to ensure the product is widely available across the country.”
